Stanford University
A historic campus that feels more like a city than a university
Walking through Stanford University felt completely different from any university we had seen before.
The campus is enormous, but it never feels crowded. Instead of modern buildings, you are surrounded by historic structures, warm colors and a calm atmosphere.
We spent hours just walking around, exploring different areas of the campus. From the main courtyards to hidden corners where students were studying in small groups, everything felt open and relaxed.
What stood out the most was the scale. Stanford is not just a university — it feels like an entire city designed for learning.
Even the sports facilities and surrounding areas are massive and perfectly integrated into the environment.
It’s a place that combines history, space and atmosphere in a way that’s hard to describe until you see it yourself.
• Located in Silicon Valley, California • Open campus — you can walk around freely • Best visited on foot • Ideal in good weather due to large open areas • Parking available but can be busy • Combine with a visit to Palo Alto
